About
The growth medium from cultured human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, one of the most scientifically documented MSC secretomes available for cosmetic use.
Human bone marrow MSC conditioned media is restricted under EU Annex II/416 for materials of human origin. Bone marrow is the classic source of MSCs and has the most extensive scientific literature. The secretome is relatively well characterised, containing TGF-beta, HGF, IGF-1, VEGF and immunomodulatory cytokines. Bone marrow aspiration requires medical procedures and consent, making sourcing more complex than adipose tissue. The ingredient is considered one of the stronger candidates among restricted human cell media for EU-compliant cosmetic applications.
Skin benefits
- Best-characterised MSC secretome with proven regenerative factors
- TGF-beta and IGF-1 support collagen production
- Documented immunomodulatory effects beneficial for sensitive skin
Known concerns
- EU Annex II/416 restriction
- Bone marrow aspiration requires medical consent and screening
- Pathogen screening from bone marrow source mandatory
- FBS in culture medium requires animal by-product compliance
