Common questions

How accurate are the ingredient scores? +
Scores are calculated from EU regulatory data (CosIng), peer-reviewed safety research (PubChem, SCCS, CIR opinions), and ingredient function databases. They're informational, not medical advice. Read our full methodology for details.
The app says "Could not analyze that photo." What's wrong? +
Usually it means the ingredient label wasn't readable. Try:
  • Better lighting (avoid glare and shadows)
  • Hold the camera 10–20 cm from the label
  • Make sure the text is in focus before tapping the shutter
  • Use multiple photos for long ingredient lists — LuxSense will merge them
I can't find my product when I scan its barcode. +
Our database is growing daily. If a product isn't found, you can still photograph the ingredient label directly — the analysis works the same way. Email us the barcode and we'll prioritise adding it.
How do I cancel my subscription? +
All subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the App Store app → tap your profile → Subscriptions → LuxSense → Cancel Subscription. Your access stays active until the end of the current billing period.
Can I get a refund? +
Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple, not LuxSense. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select your LuxSense purchase.
Is my data private? +
Yes. LuxSense doesn't require an account. We don't track you across other apps or sites. Photos you scan aren't tied to a personal profile and aren't sold or shared. Read our full Privacy Policy.
What devices does LuxSense support? +
iPhone running iOS 17 or newer. iPad and Android support are on the roadmap.
