About
Alfalfa leaf powder — a chlorophyll- and vitamin-rich botanical with mild skin-conditioning and antioxidant effects.
Medicago sativa leaf powder (CAS 84082-36-0) is milled dried alfalfa leaf. It is nutritionally rich in chlorophyll, carotenoids, vitamins (K, A precursors, folate), saponins, and isoflavone phytoestrogens in small amounts. EU CosIng lists it for skin-conditioning function; no Annex II/III restrictions. No CIR adverse findings. Topically well tolerated; saponin content warrants avoidance at very high concentrations in leave-on products. The phytoestrogen content is low enough to be of minimal cosmetic-exposure concern.
