It is listed in EU Annex III with specific concentration limits: 0.1% in leave-on products (except 1% in hydroalcoholic products, 2.5% in fine fragrances, and 0.5% in fragrance creams) and 0.2% in rinse-off products. AHTN is persistent in the environment, has been detected in aquatic organisms and human adipose tissue, and is classified as H411 (toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects).
