About
2-METHYLDODECANAL is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulation. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
2-Methyldodecanal (2-methylundecyl aldehyde with one additional carbon) is a branched aliphatic aldehyde functioning as a fragrance ingredient. It is not listed in EU Annexes II or III. Branched-chain aldehydes are widely used in perfumery for their fresh, citrus, and floral notes. Aliphatic aldehydes can present mild sensitization concerns at high concentrations, but at typical fragrance use levels (below 1%), the risk is manageable. The methyl branch reduces oxidation compared to linear aldehydes. SCCS has evaluated aliphatic aldehydes as a class and found them safe at fragrance use concentrations.
