About
An amino acid derivative naturally found in skin that signals cells to produce more collagen and elastin — a firming ingredient that helps restore skin's youthful bounce.
Acetyl ornithine (N-acetyl-L-ornithine) is a modified amino acid and derivative of arginine. It is naturally present in the urea cycle and acts as a precursor to proline, which is critical for collagen synthesis. Studies suggest acetyl ornithine can stimulate fibroblast activity and increase collagen production. It also acts as a humectant. The acetylated form improves skin penetration compared to basic ornithine. Safe at cosmetic concentrations with no irritation or sensitization profile.
