ALLANTOIN PANTHENOL
Safety score · 0–100
Excellent
Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
A winning combination of allantoin (from comfrey root) and panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) — two of skincare's most trusted soothing and healing agents in one ingredient.
Allantoin (5-ureidohydantoin) is a purine metabolic product found in comfrey root, beetroot and chamomile. It promotes cell proliferation and wound healing while gently exfoliating. DL-panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) is the alcohol form of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5); it converts to panthothenic acid in skin where it acts as a humectant, moisturizer and anti-inflammatory. The combination is synergistic — allantoin soothes and promotes renewal while panthenol hydrates and repairs. Both have extensive safety records and are approved worldwide for cosmetic use. No sensitization concerns.
