About
A quaternary ammonium conditioning agent derived from almond oil fatty acids that helps neutralize static and improve texture in hair and skin products.
Alkyl amidopropyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride is a cationic surfactant used as an antistatic agent and conditioning substrate in rinse-off and leave-in cosmetic formulations. It is structurally related to behentrimonium chloride and is generally well-tolerated with low skin absorption. The EU Cosmetic Regulation (EC 1223/2009) does not list this specific substance in Annexes II–VI, meaning it is permitted without concentration limits; however, as a quaternary ammonium compound it may cause mild ocular irritation in leave-on products at high concentration.
Skin benefits
- Antistatic agent improves hair smoothness
- Conditions and softens skin and hair
Known concerns
