Amosite (grunerite asbestos) is an amphibole asbestos mineral classified as IARC Group 1 confirmed human carcinogen and CMR Category 1A substance under EU CLP regulation. It carries H350 (carcinogen), H372 (organ toxicity), H341 (mutagen), and H370 (organ toxicity) statements. Asbestos of all types is absolutely prohibited in cosmetic products under EU Regulation 1223/2009 Annex II, with no permissible exposure level.
