About

A Japanese mugwort species containing artemisinin and coumarins that provides anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial benefits with some sensitization considerations.

Artemisia princeps (Japanese mugwort) is a well-known traditional medicinal and edible plant in East Asia, closely related to Artemisia argyi and Artemisia vulgaris. It contains artemisinin, coumarins (scopoletin), and flavonoids. Mugwort pollen is a significant allergen; the leaf extract has much lower allergenic potential. The existing PubChem score of 75 is consistent with documented use. Not restricted under EU cosmetics regulation.
