About
A stable vitamin C derivative that provides antioxidant benefits and helps brighten skin without the irritation common to pure ascorbic acid.
Benzyl 3-Glyceryl Ascorbate is a glyceryl ether ester of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), designed to deliver stabilized vitamin C activity while improving solubility in cosmetic bases. It acts as an antioxidant and collagen-supporting agent. Structurally it is a protected ascorbate derivative that releases vitamin C upon skin metabolism. The EU Cosmetic Regulation permits vitamin C derivatives without specific restriction in Annexes II–VI; it is classified as safe at concentrations up to typical use levels (up to 3%). SCCS has confirmed vitamin C in cosmetic use as safe provided concentration limits for purity are observed.
