About
A PEG-silicone hybrid polymer — conditions skin and hair while staying water-dispersible. Mostly gentle, but ethoxylation adds purity caveats.
Bis-Isobutyl PEG-15/Amodimethicone Copolymer is a block copolymer linking isobutyl-terminated PEG-15 chains to an amino-functional polydimethylsiloxane. The amine groups give it substantivity on hair and skin, while the PEG block makes it water-dispersible for easy formulation into shampoos, conditioners, and lotions. Because the PEG block is ethoxylated, 1,4-dioxane (IARC 2B) can appear as a trace impurity; reputable suppliers limit it to <10 ppm. Silicone persistence remains an environmental concern. No CIR or SCCS red-flag safety signals on this or closely related hybrid polymers; skin-tolerance is generally excellent.

- Hair conditioning and anti-breakage
- Improves emulsion spreadability
