Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
A castor-oil-derived polymeric emollient used in lipsticks and balms for rich feel and pigment wetting. Plant-based; generally safe.
This polymeric emollient combines polyricinoleic acid (from castor oil ricinoleic acid) with dimer dilinoleate, a vegetable-oil-derived dimer acid ester. The result is a high molecular weight oily polymer with excellent pigment wetting, film-forming, and emolliency properties used principally in lip color, foundation, and balm products. The parent raw materials (castor oil and vegetable dimer acids) are food-grade or nutritional-oil-grade and well-tolerated. Castor-derivative allergy is rare but documented. No dedicated CIR review for this specific INCI. Typical use 2-15% in lip and color products.
