Cadinene is a bicyclic sesquiterpene (C15H24) commonly isolated from cedarwood, cubeb, and other essential oils. As a fragrance ingredient, it contributes woody, spicy notes to perfumes. It is classified as a skin sensitizer under EU CLP regulations and must be declared as a fragrance allergen in the ingredients list when present above 0.001% in leave-on products. It is not listed in EU Annexes II or III for cosmetic restrictions.
