About

A natural mineral blend of calcite (calcium carbonate) and quartz (crystalline silica). On skin it is inert and useful as a filler or mild scrub — the real concern is inhalation of the silica fraction.

Skin benefits

  • Mineral bulking and absorbent
  • Mild physical exfoliation in scrubs
  • Provides matte finish in powder make-up
  • Inert and non-reactive

Known concerns

  • Crystalline silica fraction is a respiratory hazard if inhaled
  • Particle-size control needed in loose powders
  • Mechanical abrasion if particle size too large
