About
A fatty butter extracted from Camellia reticulata (wild camellia) seeds, used as a rich emollient and skin-conditioning ingredient in nourishing skincare formulations.
Camellia reticulata seed butter is a plant butter similar to the well-known Camellia oleifera (tea seed) oil and Camellia sinensis seed oil. The seeds of Camellia species are rich in oleic acid (omega-9), linoleic acid and stearic acid. These fatty acid profiles are favourable for skin barrier function. EU Regulation 1223/2009 places no restrictions on Camellia reticulata seed butter. It is used traditionally in East Asian skincare as a moisturizing agent.
Skin benefits
- Rich in skin-compatible fatty acids (oleic, linoleic)
