About
The dried seed husk/byproduct from Camellia sinensis tea seed processing, providing a fibrous botanical powder rich in cellulose, lignin, and tannins. Functions as a natural texturizer and gentle exfoliant.
Camellia Sinensis Husk Powder is the powdered outer covering (husk) of Camellia sinensis seeds, a byproduct of tea seed oil extraction. The husk contains cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, condensed tannins, and small amounts of residual oil. Under EU Regulation 1223/2009, plant byproduct powders from food-production streams are permitted cosmetic ingredients. The husk powder is used as a natural scrub agent and texturizer. Tannin content provides mild astringent properties. As a processing byproduct, it represents a sustainable upcycling of agricultural material.
