About
A skin-identical ceramide — one of the key fats holding your skin barrier together. Repairs, hydrates, and protects against moisture loss.
Ceramide NS (CAS 2304-81-6), formerly Ceramide 2, is an N-acylated sphingolipid consisting of sphingosine linked to a fatty acid. A key component of the stratum corneum's intercellular lipid matrix (~50% of skin barrier lipids). Replenishes depleted ceramides, restoring barrier function and reducing transepidermal water loss. CIR Expert Panel affirmed safety. Most effective when combined with cholesterol and fatty acids in a ratio mimicking healthy skin.
