An ethoxylated emulsifier derived from unsaturated C16-C18 fatty alcohols, used to blend oil and water phases in creams and lotions. Widely considered safe in cosmetics.
CETOLETH-4 is a non-ionic emulsifier derived from the ethoxylation of unsaturated C16-C18 fatty alcohols (oleyl and linoleyl chain predominance). With an average of 4 moles of ethylene oxide, it provides moderate hydrophilic-lipophilic balance suitable for semi-polar oil phases. It is not subject to EU restriction under Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 and is widely used in skin care and hair care emulsions at typical use levels of 1-5%.
