Chlorzoxazone is listed in Annex II of EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. This pharmaceutical muscle relaxant acts on the spinal cord and subcortical brain structures. It has been associated with drug-induced liver injury and rare but serious skin reactions including Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Cosmetic use of this drug substance is prohibited given its systemic pharmacological activity.
