CHOLETH-20
Safety score · 0–100
Fine
Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
A more water-soluble ethoxylated cholesterol (20 mol EO) suitable for aqueous cosmetic formulations.
Choleth-20 has the same cholesterol base as Choleth-10 but with a higher degree of ethoxylation (20 mol EO), resulting in greater water solubility and a lighter skin feel. The additional ethylene oxide units make it more suitable for water-based serums and lotions. It is not restricted in EU cosmetics regulation. The higher EO content means greater aqueous compatibility while maintaining some skin-conditioning benefits.
