About
A humectant that draws moisture into the skin to keep it hydrated and plump.
Choline Chloride (C₅H₁₄ClNO, CAS 67-48-1) is a quaternary ammonium salt and an essential nutrient involved in cell membrane structure, neurotransmission, and methyl group metabolism. In cosmetics, CosIng lists humectant and skin conditioning functions. It attracts and retains moisture in the skin. GHS hazard statements include H315 (skin irritation), H319 (eye irritation), and H335 (respiratory irritation) at Warning level — these apply to the concentrated chemical, not typical cosmetic use levels (usually <2%). Choline is naturally present in skin cells and is generally well-tolerated topically.
