Citrus Aurantifolia Peel Water is the aqueous solution from steam distillation of lime (Citrus aurantifolia) peel. Lime peel is the tissue with the highest furanocoumarin concentration in the fruit, containing bergapten as the primary phototoxic coumarin. EU Annex III entry II/358 applies. Steam distillation reduces but does not completely eliminate coumarin content. Leave-on skin use requires compliance with concentration limits and appropriate labelling under EU cosmetics regulation.
