About
A hydrosol from tachibana (Japanese wild mandarin) fruit — a mild citrusy toning water with trace flavonoids. Watch the citrus phototoxicity caveat.
Citrus aurantium tachibana fruit water is the aqueous distillate (hydrosol) from the tachibana, a wild Japanese mandarin species. Used as a toning water and carrier ingredient in Japanese natural cosmetics. Contains trace citrus flavonoids, a very low level of essential oils, and characteristic citrus scent. Citrus peel oils can contain furanocoumarins (bergapten and relatives) that cause phototoxic reactions in sunlight; hydrosol (water distillate) is typically much lower in these than expressed peel oil but not guaranteed free. EU 26-allergens (limonene, linalool) may appear at low levels.
