About
Naturally occurring silicate clay minerals that function as absorbents, opacifiers, and bulking agents in cosmetic formulations.
Clay Minerals such as kaolin, montmorillonite, and hectorite are naturally occurring phyllosilicate minerals widely used in cosmetics. EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 does not restrict these minerals. Natural clays may contain varying amounts of crystalline silica, but cosmetic-grade materials are selected for low respirable crystalline silica content. Used extensively in face masks, powders, and skincare formulations for their oil-absorbing and mattifying properties.
