About

Colchicoside And Its Derivatives is a cosmetic ingredient. Raw material has significant toxicity. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.

Colchicoside is a colchicine derivative and alkaloid glycoside from Colchicum autumnale with potent anti-mitotic activity. The EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC 1223/2009) Annex II Entry prohibits this substance in cosmetic products due to acute toxicity (H301 - toxic if swallowed) and narrow safety margin. It exhibits severe toxicity even at low doses, causing gastrointestinal hemorrhage, bone marrow suppression, and multi-organ failure at higher exposures.

Known concerns
