About
Cortisone is a cosmetic ingredient. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Cortisone is a naturally occurring glucocorticoid steroid hormone. While corticosteroids have legitimate pharmaceutical applications for inflammatory conditions, their use in cosmetics is not permitted. H361 indicates suspected reproductive toxicity. The EU SCCS has not approved cortisone for cosmetic use. Topical corticosteroids are prescription-only medicines and their presence in cosmetics would constitute a regulatory violation.
