About

Sea fennel callus culture is a plant cell culture ingredient rich in bioactive compounds; it is used in cosmetics for its antioxidant and skin-protective properties with a good safety profile.

Crithmum Maritimum (sea fennel) Callus is derived from the callus tissue of the sea fennel plant grown in culture. Plant callus cultures produce unique bioactive compounds including flavonoids, essential oils, and phenolic acids that may differ from the parent plant. Cultured production ensures batch consistency and avoids environmental contamination. Not restricted in EU Regulation 1223/2009 Annex II or III. The callus ingredient is used for skin conditioning and antioxidant claims. Safety assessment is favourable given the controlled production environment and absence of known toxins in the parent species at cosmetic concentrations.
