About

A conjugate of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) with a yeast-derived polypeptide, used for skin conditioning. Generally mild; yeast-allergic users should be aware.

Cyanocobalamin/Yeast Polypeptide is a cosmetic ingredient consisting of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) complexed or coupled with a polypeptide fraction obtained from yeast (typically Saccharomyces) fermentation. It is supplied as a skin-conditioning active. Cyanocobalamin itself is the synthetic shelf-stable form of vitamin B12 and is generally well tolerated topically; yeast-derived polypeptides bring a mix of amino acids and small peptides. There is no CIR or SCCS opinion specific to this combination and no GHS classification. Yeast-derived materials are variable in composition between suppliers and can occasionally trigger reactions in users with strong yeast sensitivities. Use levels are low and irritation potential is low.
