Cyclarbamate is a carbamate tranquilizer and muscle relaxant drug with anxiolytic and sedative properties. It acts on the central nervous system via GABAergic mechanisms. The EU Cosmetics Regulation Annex III restricts its use at ≥0.1% in cosmetic products. Its pharmacological profile (CNS depression, muscle relaxation) is incompatible with cosmetic use, and systemic absorption from topical application could produce unwanted CNS effects.
