About
A macrocyclic fatty acetate fragrance (C14) with a musky, waxy, coconut-like scent used in cosmetics — no EU restrictions, well-tolerated.
Cyclododecyl Acetate is a macrocyclic fatty acetate (18-carbon ring system with acetate substituent) with a musky, waxy, coconut-fat character. Macrocyclic acetates are considered among the safest fragrance ingredient families due to their excellent metabolic profiles. Reviewed by RIFM and IFRA with no restrictions applicable to cosmetic use. The cyclododecane ring is metabolised slowly but cleanly, and the compound is not a significant irritant or sensitiser at use levels. It is used as a fragrance and skin-conditioning agent in a wide range of cosmetic products.
