About

Dried ground East Indian lemongrass leaves. Aromatic natural powder; citral content is a listed fragrance allergen.

Cymbopogon Flexuosus Leaf Powder (CAS 91844-92-7) is the dried, milled leaf of East Indian lemongrass. The plant's characteristic lemon scent comes from citral (a mixture of geranial and neral aldehydes), which is on the EU 26 labeled fragrance allergens list. Powdered leaf also contains flavonoids, chlorophyll, and cellulose fibers. In cosmetics it is used as a natural exfoliant, aromatic botanical, or natural dye in masks and bar soaps. Food-grade parent plant (lemongrass tea). Contact-dermatitis cases are reported for the essential oil; lower concentrations in a powder carrier are less reactive. Typical use 0.5-5%.

Skin benefits

  • East Indian lemongrass powder — natural texturizer
