About
Soft floral fragrance ingredient that may irritate skin or eyes when concentrated.
Decyl anthranilate is the ester of decyl alcohol (1-decanol) and anthranilic acid (2-aminobenzoic acid). Anthranilate esters are a recognized class of fragrance ingredients valued for their pleasant orange-floral odor reminiscent of jasmine and neroli. Under EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, decyl anthranilate is not listed in Annex II (banned) or Annex III (restricted substances), indicating no specific safety concerns at current use levels. Occasional case reports of contact allergy exist, but the frequency is very low relative to usage volumes. IFRA standards provide guidance on maximum use concentrations for anthranilate esters in cosmetic fragrances.
