About
A botanical preparation of Dendrobium candidum (orchid) used for skin conditioning. Traditional Chinese medicine ingredient with limited Western cosmetic safety data.
Dendrobium candidum is the orchid species (Dendrobium catenatum/officinale) used in traditional Chinese medicine and increasingly in skincare for its hydrating polysaccharides, alkaloids, and amino acids. As a cosmetic INCI it is typically used at low percentages for skin-conditioning effects. There is no CIR or SCCS monograph; the standard botanical caveats apply: composition varies with origin and processing, microbial control depends on the supplier, and sensitization is possible in unusually reactive individuals. Conservative tier: yellow with low evidence.
