About
Diethyl 4-nitrophenyl Phosphate (paraoxon - Iso) is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Paraoxon is the active metabolite of the organophosphate insecticide parathion and acts as a potent acetylcholinesterase inhibitor. Under EU Regulation 1223/2009 Annex II, organophosphate compounds with this toxicity profile are absolutely prohibited. Its H300 (fatal if swallowed), H310 (fatal in contact with skin), H330 (fatal if inhaled), and H400 (very toxic to aquatic life) classifications confirm it has no place in cosmetic formulations. It is classified as a CMR substance (carcinogenic/mutagenic/reprotoxic) category.
