About
A synthetic hexaester emollient — softens skin and improves slip without a heavy oily feel. Considered low-risk for topical use with a comedogenicity rating of 1/5.
Dipentaerythrityl hexaisononanoate (CAS 1051924-91-4) is a large, fully synthetic ester formed from dipentaerythritol and isononanoic acid. In cosmetics it functions as a rich emollient and viscosity modifier, filling microscopic gaps between corneocytes to leave skin feeling supple. Its high molecular weight means it does not penetrate deeply and has very low irritation potential. No data link it to hormonal disruption, and current cosmetic safety reviews consider it low risk for topical use, including during pregnancy. Comedogenicity is rated 1 on a 0–5 scale, so it is generally well tolerated even on acne-prone skin when the overall formula is balanced.
