About
Disperse Yellow 3 is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulation. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Disperse Yellow 3 (CI 11855) is an azo dye historically used in semi-permanent hair dye and textile coloring. Azo dyes are under regulatory scrutiny because certain cleavage products (aromatic amines) can be carcinogenic. The EU has restricted several azo dyes in cosmetic products, and Disperse Yellow 3 is subject to restrictions in hair dye applications. While not currently on the explicit prohibited list, its carcinogenic potential and sensitization profile limit its use to rinse-off hair dye formulations only.
