Light steam-cracked naphtha distillates are listed in Annex II of EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. Steam cracking of naphtha produces a complex mixture containing benzene (a known human carcinogen, Category 1A under CLP), toluene, xylenes, and various unsaturated C5-C6 hydrocarbons. These streams may also contain 1,3-butadiene (Category 1A carcinogen). Cosmetic use is prohibited.
