About
Emollient ester that helps lock in moisture and gives products a smooth finish.
Ethoxydiglycol behenate is an ethoxylated ester of behenic acid (C22) with polyethylene glycol moieties, functioning as an emollient and emulsifying agent. The ethoxylation increases water solubility while the long-chain behenic acid provides occlusive and emollient properties. It is not listed on EU Annex restrictions and carries no GHS hazard statements. The long-chain saturated fatty acid (behenic acid) is a naturally occurring component of skin lipids and is well-tolerated.
