About
A prostaglandin-like synthetic active, not a routine skincare helper. Its drug-like biology makes it far more concerning than ordinary conditioning ingredients.
Ethyl travoprostamide is a synthetic prostaglandin analogue with pharmacologic activity closer to a drug than to a basic cosmetic excipient. Because prostaglandin analogues can alter biologic signaling, pigmentation, and hair behavior, the uncertainty is much higher than for normal skin-conditioning ingredients.
Function
Known concerns
- Limited long-term cosmetic safety data
- Highly bioactive prostaglandin analogue
- Possible pigment or hair-growth effects
