About
Rich emollient that conditions skin and enhances product smoothness.
Ethylhexyl hydroxystearate benzoate is a diester formed from 2-ethylhexanol esterified with both hydroxystearic acid and benzoic acid. This unique dual-ester structure provides an elegant emollient profile with excellent spreadability and good solvency for oil-soluble cosmetic ingredients including UV filters. The compound is not restricted under EU cosmetic regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009) and demonstrates very low skin sensitization potential in predictive tests. Its metabolic compatibility is favorable as it breaks down into naturally occurring fatty alcohols and acids. Widely adopted in premium skin care and sunscreen formulations for its superior aesthetic properties.
