About

A plant-derived ester from meadowfoam-seed fatty acids and 2-ethylhexanol. Light, silky emollient with very strong oxidative stability.

Ethylhexyl meadowfoamate is the 2-ethylhexyl ester of meadowfoam (Limnanthes alba) seed-oil fatty acids, which include unusually long-chain (C20-C22) monounsaturated acids that give meadowfoam its exceptional oxidative stability. The branched ethylhexyl alcohol gives the ester a light, dry slip with low tack, suitable for sunscreens, lotions, and color cosmetics. The component pieces are CIR-supported safe; no CMR or endocrine flags reported. Skin tolerance is generally excellent at typical use levels (1-15%).
