About
A natural plant gum from the ghatti tree — works as a binder and thickener in formulations, completely non-toxic and well-tolerated even on sensitive skin.
Ghatti gum is a complex polysaccharide (arabinogalactan) exuded from Anogeissus latifolia, composed primarily of arabinose, galactose, xylose, mannose, and glucuronic acid units. It functions as a suspending agent, binder, and viscosity builder in cosmetic emulsions and powder formulations. It is physiologically inert, has no known toxicity, and is not absorbed through the skin. It has been used in traditional medicine and food applications for centuries with an excellent safety record.
