About
An aromatic ester providing a sweet, mild floral-honey fragrance; not restricted under EU cosmetics law though it may act as a mild sensitizer in susceptible individuals.
Hydrocinnamyl acetate (3-phenylpropyl acetate) is an aromatic ester used in perfumery for its sweet, mild floral-honey character. It is not listed in EU Annexes II–VI with restrictions. While structurally related to cinnamyl compounds (which are known allergens), hydrogenation of the double bond significantly reduces its sensitization potential, resulting in a safer profile than its unsaturated analogues.
