About
High-performing emollient that locks in moisture and strengthens skin barrier.
Hydroxystearyl hydroxystearate is a wax ester formed from two hydroxystearic acid molecules, creating a high-molecular-weight structured emollient. Long-chain wax esters of this type are well-tolerated by skin and provide a distinctive velvety, non-greasy feel with excellent water-resistance properties. Not listed in EU Annex II (banned substances) or Annex III (restricted substances) under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. The hydroxystearyl moiety contributes additional hydroxyl functionality that improves skin compatibility compared to simple hydrocarbon emollients. Used in lipsticks, moisturizers, and body butters for its protective film-forming properties.
