About

A terpene alcohol with a woody-camphoraceous scent found in some essential oils, used as a fragrance ingredient.

Isoborneol is a bicyclic monoterpene alcohol present in several essential oils including camphor tree and ginger grass. It is used as a fragrance ingredient in cosmetics. Like many terpene alcohols from essential oils, it may cause mild skin irritation or sensitization in susceptible individuals at higher concentrations, and IFRA advises limitation in leave-on products.
