About
Isopentyl-4-methoxycinnamate / Amiloxate is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulation. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Amiloxate (Isopentyl-4-methoxycinnamate) is a UV-A filter approved for use in cosmetic sunscreen products within the EU at a maximum concentration of 10%. It effectively absorbs UVA radiation in the 320-360 nm range. However, it is classified as Hazardous to the Aquatic Environment (H400 Very Toxic to aquatic life; H410 Very toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects), which has led to regulatory scrutiny. The SCCS has assessed it as safe for cosmetic use at the permitted concentration, but environmental concerns remain.
