About

A biotech peptide used to condition skin and support a smoother feel. These ingredients are usually used at low levels, but newer peptide systems often have limited independent safety data.

Methionyl sh-Oligopeptide-2 Decapeptide-40 is a single chain recombinant fusion peptide, produced by fermentation in E. coli. The starting gene is synthesized by the fusion of the gene from sh-Oligopeptide-2 and Decapeptide-40 with the initiation code for methionine. The fusion peptide contains 81 amino acids and consists of the proper sequence of the 20 standard amino acids. It is a peptide-based biotech material, typically used at low concentrations for conditioning or signalling effects. No clear restriction appears in the batch data, but independent human data for newer cosmetic peptides is usually limited.
