About

Methylhydrazine is a cosmetic ingredient. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.

Methylhydrazine presents an extreme hazard profile including H350 (may cause cancer), H225 (highly flammable), H300/H310/H330 (fatal if swallowed, in contact with skin, or inhaled), H314 (severe skin burns and eye damage), H317 (skin sensitisation), H330 (fatal if inhaled), H334 (may cause allergy or asthma symptoms if inhaled), H400/H410/H411 (aquatic toxicity), and numerous additional hazard statements. The EU Annex II listing absolutely prohibits its use in cosmetic products. The H350 carcinogenicity classification combined with acute toxicity makes this one of the most highly restricted substance classes.

Known concerns

  • EU Annex II banned — H350 carcinogenicity
  • H300/H310/H330 acute toxicity
  • H314 skin corrosion
  • H317 sensitisation
  • H334 respiratory sensitisation
