About

Fresh pulp from the Brazilian jabuticaba fruit — rich in anthocyanin antioxidants. Food-grade and gentle; contributes both conditioning and a natural tint.

Myrciaria cauliflora (jabuticaba) is a Brazilian Myrtaceae tree whose grape-sized purple fruits grow directly on the trunk. The pulp is rich in anthocyanins (cyanidin, delphinidin glycosides), ellagic acid, and vitamin C. In cosmetics it functions as a skin-conditioning and antioxidant ingredient, and its anthocyanin content can naturally tint formulations. Long-standing Brazilian food use gives reassurance on intrinsic safety; no CIR monograph; no EU CosIng restriction. Formulation challenges centre on anthocyanin colour stability and microbial preservation.
